Perhaps you have heard on the news this morning how news anchor Anderson Cooper went temporarily blind while on assignment in Portugal.
“I wake up in the middle of the night and it feels like my eyes are on fire,” he said. “It turns out I have sunburned my eyeballs and I go blind. I went blind for 36 hours. I took this picture of me after I went to the hospital.” Anderson states.
Constant streaming of UV rays bouncing off the water took a definite toll on Coopers eyes. All of this misery could of easily been avoided if he would only worn his polarized sunglasses. Polarized lenses cut down the glare that comes off of reflective surfaces like water, snow, and sand.
